Newhay Lakes are situated off the A63 (Selby to Hull Road), between the villages of Cliffe and Hemingbrough. Open daily from 8am until dusk. Noted for Carp, Roach, Bream and Chub fishing.

Disabled anglers are most welcome and will find both lakes accessible. Children are welcome, if accompanied by an adult, unless prior arrangements have been made.

Day Ticket Lake
This is now well established and has become increasingly popular to many anglers. The lake is extensively stocked with all species of coarse fish, including superb barbel and plenty of large carp to 20lbs. Night fishing is possible, but strictly by prior arrangement only.

Specimen Lake
This was established in 1993, and has shown a steady growth rate in the original fish that were stocked. The grass carp, introduced in 1994, has provided us with what we understand to be the biggest of its species in Yorkshire! We now have a common, mirror and a grass carp all over 30lbs! Advance booking is essential as there are only 8 pegs and we are kept busy, especially at weekends! Book early to avoid disappointment!

Key Species:

  • Carp
  • Roach
  • Bream
  • Chub
