Old Slade Lane,
Old Slade Lake is a fifty acre venue which in certain areas reaches up to sixty five feet in depth. The shallowest part of the lake is around the island, from which the lake gradually shelves in depth until it reaches the first of the perimeter roads which were used to extract the gravel when the pit was dug.
Based on the information we currently have Old Slade Lake contains about seven thirties to 38lb 9oz, this fish was a Mirror caught in May 2005 and although we have been unable to obtain pictures of subsequent captures over the last three years we think it likely that the fish may have gained a few ounces.
Old Slade also contains at least seventy five fish over twenty pounds and over a hundred doubles. Old Slade has also produced some very big Bream and fish to 16lb 2oz were caught in 2006.
Old Slade was stocked with catfish many years but as far as we know nobody has ever landed one.
Access to Old Slade Lake is through two sets of security gates one key operated and the other a combination lock, there is a charge of £3 for a key.
