Description

Boyd Valley Lake, is a scenic mixed coarse fishery, located in Golden Valley, at the foot of the cotswolds. The one-and-a-half-acre lake is stocked with over 10,000 fish, including Mirror and Common Carp to double figures, Bream, Tench, Chub, Barbel and Roach. The central island is split into three, with shallow channels in between to allow optimum fish movement. The water is naturally red-coloured due to the rich ochre content of the local soil.

Details

Depths range from 6 to 10 feet, with a marginal shelf of around 2 feet deep. The water is planted with a variety of aquatic species whilst the surrounding area accommodates over 500 newly-planted trees. There is also plenty of on-site mud-free car parking available. Keepnets are allowed at the venue, as are barbed hooks, though barbless hooks are preferred. There are no bait bans or limits but anglers are advised to use common sense. Day tickets cost £6.00 each and are only available from Avon Aquatics, 72-76 High Street, Staple Hill, Bristol BS16 5HN. Telephone 0117 9327659. Day tickets are not sold on the bank.
