This majestic water, one of Englands most westerly trout fisheries, is regularly stocked with rainbow trout.
It contains a natural head of brown trout. Fly fishing only, from both bank and boat (advance booking is essential to guarantee a boat). Large numbers of hawthorn flies guarantee good, dry fly fishing in the first part of the season, while the large number of sticklebacks means that Autumn fry-bashing can produce some exiting sport. Tuition is available from local instructor Gary Champion (01872 863551), who can cater for groups and individuals.
Day permits available from the self-service kiosk on site.
Season tickets available from Angling & Watersports Centre reception, (01209 860301) or from Summerlands Tackle, tel 01237 471291.
