Three picturesque fishing lakes noted for Carp, Bream, Roach, Tench, Perch and Rudd fishing.

The Top Lake
The top lake, (also known as the Doughnut due to it being circular with an island) is an 18 peg lake. Carp here average around 8lb but don’t be surprised to catch them over 10lb, Barbel are regularly being caught now and are gaining weight since their introduction a few years ago. There are plenty of skimmers with lots of silvers. Matches often produce weights over 100 lb.

The Long Lake
Is an 11 peg lake being a canal shape with fishing only available from one side of the lake. Carp average around 6lb, Barbel are regularly being caught, as are a variety of silver fish of varying sizes. This lake is particularly good for small matches, batch bookings, children and beginners of all ages.

The Horns Dam
This 4 acre, 40 peg water accommodates larger matches and has well spaced pegs for carp fishing. The Horns Dam is very popular with the carp angler, pleasure fisherman and match angler. The historic lake throws out plenty of surprises with carp over 25lb, bream over 10 lb and tench over 6 lb, with a good head of roach, rudd, chub and specimen perch.

Key Species:

Absoulutley spot on, beautiful part of the country and superb fishing the 3 small ponds are full of fish as well as the dam itself has some cracking fish with carp up to 30 lbs. the fishery it's self is very well looked after as well as the fish too. This place is hard to find as its deep in the countryside this is hardly surprising as horns dam is a little gem in itself. massive thumbs up from me :-)

Horns dam consists of the main lake and 3 other match waters. The main lake Has a good stock of carp with some bigger carp to be caught. The match lakes consist of a doughnut lake, a canal type water and a smaller pond. I have always done well on the doughnut fishing to the island on a tip rod, also the margins produce good weights. Definately worth checking out if your a carp angler or pleasure angler

Great fishery, consist of one established large lake with carp up to 30lb, smaller lakes are the doughnut, canal lake and field lake. All are well stocked but my favourite being the doughnut. The large lake is popular with the carp anglers who regular bivy up for a few days session. I would check the web site ( to find out if any of the lakes are booked for matches. The fishery has areas for caravans (adults only caravan site, no camping) but if you are like me and have a caravan and love fishing this is a great place, again for more info look at the web site. Five stars for this fishery.
