Hampshire Avon Side Stream of approximately 2 miles. This stretch of river comes into its own in the winter when the main river is high but the Summer months need not be overlooked. A roving approach with natural baits can offer reasonable Chub action in low clear conditions. Maggot or Bread punch in winter will produce good bags of Roach to over 2lb and Dace to 1lb with odd Chub and occasional Barbel.
Ringwood & District Anglers Association
Chub, Dace, Roach, Gudgeon, Pike, Eels, occasional Barbel
ALWAYS use adequate and well balanced tackle when targeting or expecting Barbel. RDAA recommend no less than 6lb line with a suitably strong hook.
