Specimen Lake
During early 2010 ten different carp have gone over the magical 20lb barrier with four of these being commons. The complex record, a mirror of 27.10 was weighed in early 2010 and with the carp still continuing to grow who knows what size these carp will attain in the next few years.

Specimen Lake is probably one of the most prolific twenties day ticket waters in the county; with the phenomenal growth rate that has been recorded there over the years there is every good reason to say this and nothing to say that it will not improve even more. Not including the ten twenties we estimate that the water could hold up to forty 15lbs plus fish and in addition the water contains a very large head of mid doubles.

Our stocking policy on the water is ongoing and selected carp will be introduced regularly. We estimate that the current carp stock levels are close to 100 fish. with the smallest stocked fish being 12lbs plus.

As a coach I find the venue very good plenty of fish to be caught and decent depths of water. Staff are very friendly. Toilets are basic but room in field for caravans. All in all really good. Anyone wanting to book a coaching session there contact me via my website www.neilpowellanglingcoaching.co.uk

Good parking, well kept ponds, decent size fish, very friendly staff - what more could you want... Last time I was there August 2013 I caught close on 200lb of carp and tench on the top pool... An excellent place that I would recommend to any budding angler :-)
