Details

Snake Lake
Designed as a purpose built,100 peg, competition lake the Snake is approximately 13 metres wide and 1.5 metres deep. The pegs are 13 metres apart on average with established reed and rushes on near and far banks.

Species
Carp (20lb), Bream (4lb), Tench (4lb), Chub (3lb), Roach (2lb), Crucian and Brown Goldfish (2lb) and Rudd (12oz). Although designed as a competition lake, pleasure anglers enjoy the snake as there is usually a secluded, peaceful spot and with the carp a good average size there is usually something to put a bend in the rod.

Suggested Baits
Summer: Meat, Corn, Pellet, Catmeat and Paste Winter: Maggot, Pellet, Worm and Caster.

Road Lake
A 30 peg true mixed lake. The Road Lake is probably the most popular lake at Puddledock with its varied species and close proximity to both car parks. The Road Lake has one long island up the centre, 20 metres from the bank, depth is roughly 1.6metres, lending itself to waggler and feeder fishing, popular with pleasure anglers. All methods have proven track records with waggler and tip often winning club matches but long and short pole approach also very successful.

Suggested Baits
Summer: Meat, Corn, Pellet, Catmeat, Paste and worm.
Winter: Maggot, Pellet, Worm and Caster.

Islands Lake
A 24 peg lake created to satisfy the carp bagging enthusiast, Island Lake is carp only but different to many carp puddles in as much that it is not a whole in the ground but set at the quiet end of the site with established hedgerow and stream / woodland on two sides. Carp from small to 18lb's up for grabs.

Wood Lake
Set in a backdrop of an established wood, the Wood Lake is the specimen lake at Puddledock. Stocking is pretty much carp only with a good head of fish in the 12lb to 18lb range, with fish in the low 20's rising to 30lb. There are also lots of smaller homebred carp in the Wood Lake that can be good fun for the junior while dad seeks the specimen.

Great place to fish for the day. Some lovely big carp in the lakes also have some bream, small carp and small roach. Great to bring the kids for the day as there is several lakes on site, some great walks and Puddleduck has a large cafe and toilet facilities. The only down side to this location is the parking on site it has a large car park which is great. But if you wish to fish on some of the lakes you have a long walk. That can be hard with all your fishing gear. Other than that give it a try you will enjoy your fishing day at Puddleduck Farm. I highly recommend this place

Just fished a match on the road lake. Won it with 35lb mixed bag of mainly skimmers and bream with a few carp to 6/7lb. Fishing was hard, single red maggot was the hookbait as fish are still a bit shy. Bites are very finicky at the moment. This is a great venue if you know how to fish properly. Big wagglers, carp gear and big hooks are a no no for Road lake. 0.11m rig with 0.10mm hook length - size 20 hook. Float dotted right down!!

Clean, friendly and great for getting the kids into carp fishing. We had 19 out in 6 hours and my boys are only 6 and 8. Nice cafe and bait shop to add. Recommend this place highly. Will come again soon.

Puddledock is a good day ticket for anyone that's happy to get on the smaller fish all day long. The venue is well kept has a good quality cafe and well stocked tackle shop. I've recently fished road lake and wood lake and I have seen some fish of a better stamp up to 20s in wood lake but you've gotta get through the pasties to temp the bigger ones.

Tips

We managed to get 8 common carp between 3-7 lbs using bread. Cover the hook with bread like a boilie the bigger the ball the better. Cast it near to the corner of the pond/ lake or near it the edge of any bank. Watch ur float as they are fast in this location.
