My dad and I have fished the majority of the coquet over the last 10yrs- this section costs £10 for a full day session- permits from the anglers arms public house. The stretch is half a mile above and below the bridge (only 1 mile in total). We were fishing for brownies- had about 10 between us- majority being little 3-4inch fish, had a decent take by fish of about 3/4 pound but didn't hook it.
Access wise the area immediately under the bridge is easy going, however downstream (where the better runs are) was hard going.
Struggled at times with thigh waders- would recommend waist/chest.
Fly wise the gold heads hares ear, montana stone fly (red version) and snipe and purple seemed to work well.
May try again later in the year for sea trout as there were one or two decent pools throughout the mile stretch.
For £70 a season the coquet federation ticket seems better value for money with similar results catch wise.
Hope this helps- tight lines
